TMA-1 headphones by KiBiSi for AIAIAI
Danish design firm KibiSi launch these beautiful minimal headphones today. The headphones are a collaboration with other Danish electronics company AIAIAI who wanted a durable design.
TMA-1 is a name taken from an Stanley Kubrick’s science fiction movie 2001: A Space Odyssey, where it describes a machine that was long lasting and reliable. The headphones are finished in matte black rubber, nylon and plastic.
The design of TMA-1 is simple, and then some. It is stripped down to nothing more than the essentials. No ornaments, colors or other distractions. Only a very discrete and hidden logo indicates that these headphones come from an established brand.
This marks a new route in a terrain, that for the last couple of years have seen an endless array of products branded with extensive logos, and marketed by celebrities. The TMA-1 travels on a different road, and with it’s simple and iconic look, it is essentially nothing more, than the idea of the headphone.

Polish graphic designer Roman Cieślewicz was a master of collage who brought surrealist fantasy to the dour visual culture of communist Poland with his scalpel and scissors. By reworking familiar icons like Che Guevara and Mona Lisa, he produced some of the most influential posters and book illustrations of the 20th century, now on show at London's Royal College of Art.

It’s all in there : a catchy tune, served by an androgyne voice, heavenly synth pads decaying to the max, and last but not least... a bass sound to die for. All in all, a very promising foretaste to Tristesse's upcoming album on the DANTON EEPROM label, to be released later this year. He produced & remixed this first track.

We have the pleasure to introduce a collection of accessories exclusively designed for MAPP. by Brussels designer Michael Guérisse O'Leary.
This collection of strictly limited edition of belts comprises two styles for men, and two thin styles for women.
Michael declined his famous work for MAPP. to let you discover the aesthetic of his line coupled with the expression of contrasts of colors. Hand-made in his own workshop, Michael takes care of the quality of each commercialised item. The colours in use for this special edition will perfectly fit the spring/summer's collections.
After receiving his architecture degree at Victor Horta Institute in Brussels, Michael Guérisse O'Leary worked a few years as an architect before following a training in leatherworks at Arts et Métiers of Brussels, directed by a master-artisan of the famous Maison Delvaux. Since 2005, more and more shops around the world have started selling Michael's line. Recently, the Luxemburg Modern Art Museum has taken his accessories for the shop designed by Erwan Bouroullec.
This collection will only be available at MAPP.
Less than one year after signing a recording contract with Matador records, this Austin trio has already released its second album, 'Hippies'. Expect no flowers but power, harsh and infectious pop songs, all what love from a garage pop band.

Ed Templeton’s (b. 1972) work cannot easily be categorised. He was brought up in Orange County, a suburb of Los Angeles, and spent his youth in a world of skateboarding and punk music. While still very young he became a professional skateboarder and at the age of 21 set up his Toy Machine Bloodsucking Skateboard Company, for which he did all the artwork. Photography has also always been a constant interest. In the same way as he was never able to choose between skateboarding and being an artist – they fuel each other.
Templeton mainly documents his own life and that of the people around him. Being on the road also inspires Templeton into traditional street photography. His career as a pro skateboarder means he spends a lot of time with youngsters who are at an uncertain phase of discovery in their lives. With dreams, hope, worries, the formation of identity and the presentation of the self to the fore. He wants to create openness and offer insights and opportunities to those who want to grasp them.
His exhibition at the S.M.A.K. in Gent tells the story of a pro skateboarder, a photographer, a draftsman, a painter, etc. A story which, although it focuses on his own life and those of the people around him, transcends the autobiographical and exposes social and societal phenomena unhesitatingly but without pointing a finger.

10 years of activism, love and artistic ambition. To celebrate its anniversary, the label is releasing a wonderful double compilation : More G.D.M. X, both a retrospective and vision of the future. A lot of unreleased exclusive tracks, some confirmed hits and some personal classics.
The first CD (Easy) shows the bright pop side of Tigersushi with songs by Poni Hoax, Panico, Principles of Geometry, Krikor, while the 2nd CD, mixed by the boss Joakim, explores the more experimental innerside of the label with K.I.M., Jackson, Joakim, Discipline…

Sang Bleu magazine was initiated in 2004 as an attempt to create a publication proposing a contemporary and experimental vision of modern culture and style. Rejecting the usual categorizations and segmentations, Sang Bleu’s statement is to use Art, Fashion, Sociology, Literature, but also – more unexpectedly – Tattooing, Body Modification, and other subcultures to create a carefully composed image of modern urban societies and individuals.
Whatever their background is, Sang Bleu will reach those with a poetic mind and a sensitivity for beauty and take them to countries they never knew about.

Beat Takeshi Kitano imagined an extraordinary project.
He created "Gosse de peintre", a site-specific exhibition for the Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain in Paris that presents an unexpected and captivating world in which the magical memories of his childhood take center stage.
With subtlety and an impertinent humor, that moves from black to zany, Kitano leads the visitor through surprises, gags, and games, all the while mocking contemporary art, experimenting with the sciences, and toying with the clichés associated with his country.
Presenting paintings and video films, as well as astonishing objects and settings, whimsical and fantastic machines, Kitano invites the visitor to think, play, dream and join the show.
Think, play, dream... This is MAPP. Welcome!
