This was MAPP store.
4 years of fashion, music, books, jewels, design and other stuffs. 4 years of events with exhibitions, dj's, bands, new designers & artists and even some parties from time to time. 4 years of wide open eyes, adventurous ears, gorgeous friends and customers. It was fun and passion-fuelled.
MAPP, the store, will definitely close on April 2013.

Fresh paint is a COLLABORATION. an EXHIBITION. a LIVE PERFORMANCE.
The joint project, fresh paint, between LMBRJK x Oli-B x LastYardz, comes to its conclusion at MAPP. March 21, 2013.
From 6-9PM, Oli-B and LastYardz will make two special edition renderings on two LMBRJK Trilip Series Vases. This last performance constitutes the conclusion of a brief, yet powerful collaboration between the three artists. The collaborative collection is limited to 4 pieces, two live rendered Vases, and two Vases made over the course of the collaboration.
The two LIVE edition Trilip Series Vases will be put on sale at the conclusion of the exhibition. Available to everyone, the two unique art pieces will be sold through a raffle. All you need is 10EUR/13USD. You can enter to win one of the Vases by visiting MAPP or the PAYMENT PAGE on the website to submit your information and 10EUR/13USD. Two names will be drawn anonymously as the winners in a champagne event for the conclusion of the exhibition on April 4, 2013 from 6-9PM.

Largely inspired by the American north-west, seen through the eyes of David Lynch as it may be, Douglas Firs is a mere pseudonym to the Russian-born Belgian designer Lena Loginova.
In despise to her given name she timidly hides behind the Douglas Firs, that can at once be the name of a tailor or a lumberjack or a magnificent tree... little it matters, much it evokes - the humble splendour of the North American west-coast wilderness, the plaids, the black coffee and the cherry pie, the tragically beautiful school girls and the prevoyant logs from the douglas-fir woods where the owls are not what they seem.
Douglas Firs, whether a living person or a spirit, provides not only inspirational but also functional garments in which the aforementioned evocations permeate. Tailored not only for the Lynchian ladies but for any woman who is looking for the understated glamour, comfort, pure lines and exclusively natural materials to define her style.
Tailored to last and to be dressed up or down by those who wish to opt out of the everlong trend-race and appreciate the garments (and themselves) for what they really are - never forgetting to keep an eye on the details and the signs in the owlcave, of course.
Romance Moderne, the Brussels based independent record label, presents his first compilation.
The label is representing a large range of music styles and artists from the present or the past, based on 80's/90's sounds with a passion for analog machines. This is their first vinyl release.
Regularly they organize parties into great places, always composed by a live act and dj sets.

Artisan Social Designer est une nouvelle galerie située à Paris qui rassemble les productions d'artistes et de designers émergents ou peu connus, à travers leurs pratiques d'ateliers. L'intérêt de cette jeune génération pour le travail manuel les ralie au sein de ce nouvel espace. Les artistes et designers viennent d'un peu partout, principalement de France, mais aussi d'Europe et des Etats Unis.
Dans un monde où tout va trop vite, une douce résistance se fait sentir dans la direction et la programmation de cette galerie. Les deux co-directeurs, Naïs Calmettes et Rémi Dupeyrat, sortant tous deux des Beaux Arts, ont réuni ici les domaines qui leur sont chers : le design, l'art contemporain, la mode et l'édition.

SERVICE ILLUSTRATIF is a project created by Bart Van Overberghe, illustrator and set designer.
During the exhibition, the artist will also present his other works called JOURNAL ILLUSTRATIF, No.0 and No.0,5.
The first one is a magazine for and about images, a graphic short story, or a visual “trip” between abstraction and representation. The story occurs somewhere in the meantime, between looking and reading: a short stroll for the imagination.
Journal No.0,5 is part of a screening project. The displacement mixing a re-use of printing layers creates a sequence of images without a fixed orders.

THEREMYNT Space Control (Neopren) / CD After their first EP "Silenzio" presenting a space disco track with sensual vocals in italian and a cover of Robert Palmer's pop anthem Mary & Johny, Theremynt has gone further into his exploration of their pop synth universe with a full CD entitled Space Control. Composed of two individuals, Jan Richard, an ex- drummer who has fallen in love with synthetizers and Eva Peel both a Dj and singer, who had already released other electronic music projects, Theremynt is the result of the duet's common vision of electronic music. They both confess a liking for space disco, krautrock, pop music, 70's, 80's synth composers and even more minimalistic approaches of certain Detroit artists. This album, built like a sonic odissey contains eleven tracks that should enable you to take a full journey into the sound. "From Fly to Morrocco" up to Philippe K.Dick's Blade Runner tribute (Rachel Rosen), from Gavin Russom's influenced "Electric ocean" up to cinematic "Farewell", the duet has been trying to explore a full spectrum of synthesized sounds without forgetting the dancefloor with other pieces such as "Orbital journey" or "the Force". Welcome LAURENCEAIRLINE at MAPP!
The concept behind this new brand is based on how fashion and ethnic cultures can successfully collaborate to create possibilities for the future. Designer Laurence Chauvin-Buthaud launches its first menswear collection "ABIDJAN” focusing on shirts and underwear. Laurence’s shirts tell the story of a stylish journey Fabrics are elegantly mixed together: poplin, chambray, and wax cotton. Along with graphical details the shirts’ soft and precise cuts make for a new kind of dynamism, fitting a modern tribal pop man.
The launch of this menswear shirt collection will help generate employment in Laurence’s hometown of Abidjan. In a country, Ivory Coast, where education is still unaffordable for most, LAURENCEAIRLINE’s goal is to make learning a stimulating and creative trade possible.

The Brussels Modo Walk 2011 is organized this year under the theme “statement”. The Brussels based designer Marc-Philippe Coudeyre will interpret this as www.:-)book.com, or the “smile-book”. He invites you to follow the example of our national fashionista Linda Van Waesberge and to pass by on Friday 28th of October at MAPP from 6 pm to immortalize your “statement smile”, dressed in one of the fabulous jackets of his winter collection “Honey Hunters”. For this installation, Marc Philippe will have the support of “The Impossible Project”, a company that is passionately manufacturing new films for Vintage Polaroid cameras. The Hidden Tapes is a compilation of Minimal Wave from Around the World ‘79-85' featuring rare, unreleased tracks from as far as Japan and the former Yugoslavia.
The sounds on this record range from raw proto-industrial to naive danceable Belgradian new wave, to filmic synthesizer music to more complex, vocal-driven melodic synthpop. The Hidden Tapes presents songs from Danton’s Voice, Oskarova Fobija, The Fast Set, Sympathy Nervous, Pas De Deux, Unovidual + Tara Cross, SS-Say, Robert Lawrence + Mark Phillips, Kym Amps and Reservé, all lovingly remastered.
Limited edition of 999 numbered copies, pressed on 180 gram vinyl, and housed in heavy printed jacket accompanied by inner jacket with photos and info.

EXHIBITION Christian Désile « Design Affectif » |

During Brussels Design September event, MAPP. a place dedicated to creation, at the crossroads of fashion, culture and design, will transform its space to incorporate various and sensitive Christian Desile‘s creations.
Christian Désile comes from the Ecole des Beaux Arts of Bordeaux (Plastic Arts section). Focusing on photography as a mean of expression, he staged a photo agency and image synthesis and works in architectural circles for fifteen years now.
Self-taught, he developed a passion for design and presents its first prototype folding chair at St Etienne's Biennale in 2008. This one will be noticed and produced by the Belgian publisher Vange.
In September 2009, at the fair Maison & Objet, he received the prize Découverte Design Now and the Coup de Coeur Presse for the Vange chair.
In his process of creation, Christian Desile is not interested in the object itself, but in the intellectual process related to the confrontation between technical problems, geometry, ethics, affect ... which makes a fascinating, timeless object and makes us love it endlessly.

We have the pleasure to introduce a collection of accessories exclusively designed for MAPP. by Brussels designer Michael Guérisse O'Leary.
This collection of strictly limited edition of belts comprises two styles for men, and two thin styles for women.
Michael declined his famous work for MAPP. to let you discover the aesthetic of his line coupled with the expression of contrasts of colors. Hand-made in his own workshop, Michael takes care of the quality of each commercialised item. The colours in use for this special edition will perfectly fit the spring/summer's collections.
After receiving his architecture degree at Victor Horta Institute in Brussels, Michael Guérisse O'Leary worked a few years as an architect before following a training in leatherworks at Arts et Métiers of Brussels, directed by a master-artisan of the famous Maison Delvaux. Since 2005, more and more shops around the world have started selling Michael's line. Recently, the Luxemburg Modern Art Museum has taken his accessories for the shop designed by Erwan Bouroullec.
This collection will only be available at MAPP.
Sang Bleu magazine was initiated in 2004 as an attempt to create a publication proposing a contemporary and experimental vision of modern culture and style. Rejecting the usual categorizations and segmentations, Sang Bleu’s statement is to use Art, Fashion, Sociology, Literature, but also – more unexpectedly – Tattooing, Body Modification, and other subcultures to create a carefully composed image of modern urban societies and individuals.
Whatever their background is, Sang Bleu will reach those with a poetic mind and a sensitivity for beauty and take them to countries they never knew about.
One of the most interesting publications today in the magazine's world.
